He explained, during a press conference held "on a distance", that the department is about to complete the storage pit project for rain water in the Wadi Negev region, at the end of next month, as the storage hole is considered one of the solutions to face the Wadi Negev flood on the Wadi Naqab and Al-Fahalin regions, and pointed out that The storage pit was constructed with an area of ​​100 thousand square meters, with a depth of 20 meters, and it accommodates two million cubic meters of rain water.

He explained that the water surplus from the storage pit, if it is full, will pass through dedicated water channels to limit the arrival of rain water to the homes of citizens and affected by the floods, and that the Ministry of Infrastructure Development has begun implementing the Negev Valley Dam project, within the projects of the President of the State, where the contractor moved to the site And project implementation started.

He added: Among the projects implemented by the department are three ferries to drain rainwater to the sea, to protect Rashid’s popularity in Al-Rams from flooding the water.

He pointed out that the first phrase created in Al-Shaabiya was from the beginning of the main street, to determine the path of rain water, and the second phrase was created on the internal street that separates the sea from the water channel, and the third phrase was created on the sea promenade in the city of Rams, adding that the ferries 90% operational, during the upcoming rainy season.

He continued: The department has an interest in the road leading to Jabal Jais, which was severely damaged by the recent rains, as it is considered one of the most important vital roads in the emirate, and it is used by more than 2000 tourists and visitors daily, during the normal days, in addition to that 35 thousand vehicles in the weekend The week is heading towards Jebel Jais, according to the statistics monitored by the department before the "Corona" crisis.

He added: A new portal has been installed in Jabal Jais, to study the movement of vehicles, their density, number and documentation with cameras, and to monitor the main entrance to the mountain with electronic devices. There is also another portal in coordination with the Tourism Authority at the top of the mountain, to monitor vehicles heading to the recreational adventure platform, which is supervised by the authority in The summit of Mount Jess.

With regard to the rise in the sea level of the groundwater in the Julfar region, Al Hammadi pointed out that the Julfar region was a Bahr region before the 1970s, and it became a Devan area, and the groundwater rises in it unevenly, which causes a problem in that region, adding that the department is studying budget monitoring, To prevent water from reaching the surface, develop solutions to treat it.
