Latin America and the Caribbean has become the most region in the world with recorded Covid-19 infections since the start of the epidemic, and an Arab country has returned to closure as the number of Coronavirus infections has increased.

In Mexico, Minister of Health Jesus Garajeda died nearly two weeks after he was taken to hospital for treatment from Corona.

The total number of coronavirus infections in Mexico reached 385 thousand, while the total number of deaths reached 43 thousand and 500 people as of Saturday, ranking fourth in the number of deaths worldwide.

In Europe, about 500 workers have been quarantined on a major farm in German Bavaria, to contain a widespread outbreak of the virus.

A local official said that the tests showed that a total of 174 workers had contracted the virus since Friday, adding that the discovered outpost appeared to be confined to a "specific group of people" and had not been extended to the residents of the area.

Germany's situation is much better than its neighbors in containing the Covid-19 epidemic, and it has recorded more than 200,000 new cases of coronavirus and 9,118 deaths, according to the Robert Koch Institute for Epidemiology.

Outbreaks in the Arab countries

In the Arab region, the number of victims of the virus rose Sunday in 8 Arab countries after recording new deaths and injuries, according to official data, which forced some of them to return to the policy of closure.

In Morocco, where 633 new injuries were recorded on Sunday in one of the largest daily increases, the authorities said that they would prevent citizens from entering and leaving some of the largest cities in the Kingdom from midnight, to contain the large increase in injuries.

The cities that will be closed include: Casablanca, the important economic center, Tangier, Marrakech, Fes and Meknes.

The country eased public isolation measures a month ago, despite the continued suspension of international flights, except for private flights operated by national airlines to transport citizens or foreign residents.

In Algeria, the government decided yesterday evening to extend the stone for 15 days in large areas of the country, due to the continuous increase in cases of HIV infection in recent weeks.

In a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office, the government also decided to "prevent traffic, including private cars," to and from those 29 states. The quarantine measures were fully lifted on June 14 in the other 19 states.
