Yesterday (27th) at the National Assembly, a hearing was held on the candidates of the National Intelligence Service candidate Park Ji-won. The United Party released a document saying there was evidence that Park promised to give $500 million in cash when he went to North Korea as an envoy in 2000. Candidate Park strongly objected that it was a fake document.

This is a document released yesterday by lawmaker Joo Ho-young of the National Assembly at the hearing of candidate Park Ji-won.

It is said that "the South provides $500 million through the inter-Korean summit." and "The North provides the North with 2.5 billion dollars of investment and economic cooperation loans for three years from June 2000." .

State lawmakers insisted that it was a document prepared when candidate Park visited North Korea as an envoy in April 2000.

[Hohoyoung/Future United Party Member: 4.8 Isn't the agreement on economic cooperation not seen or signed?]

[Park Jiwon/President Candidate: Where do you think it was rigged? I think it was falsified.] If the

document is true, he added that he would take full responsibility, including resignation of the candidate, but Rep. Ha Tae-kyung of the United Party admitted at the closed hearing last night that he acknowledged that there was a discussion between the two Koreas regarding the aid to North Korea. He said he answered with the intention that this was not done.

In response, candidate Park denied Congressman Ha's claim that he could not pay cash to North Korea under any circumstances, and that he never agreed to give money through economic cooperation.

The United Party will hold an information committee meeting this morning and will announce the final position for candidate Park.
