The Municipality of Kalba has sent a professional team trained to combat marine pollution resulting from the damage of the beaches and coasts of the city of Kalba, with oil spills that have been exposed to the city of Kalba, which is affiliated with the Emirate of Sharjah, since the early hours of yesterday morning.

In cooperation with the Natural Reserves Authority and Bee'ah Company, the municipality started to get rid of the negative effects that resulted from pollution, while the specialized teams carried out cleaning operations for the region’s beaches and away from the coasts, to avoid damages in the shortest time possible, by placing floating barriers to prevent the entry of these oil and petroleum materials to the coasts And protected areas.

It is the second marine pollution that hits beaches in a month.

The head of the Environmental and Natural Reserves Authority, here Saif Al-Suwaidi, explained that "the oil slick is caused by an oil spill, what can be said to be an oil spill in sea water in general, and near the coast in particular."

She added: «Sometimes oil is poured on the ground, near the beaches, which is a process of launching petroleum hydraulic fluids, which means that it is one of the forms of environmental pollution that requires its control and response, which is done by specialized teams, in cooperation and coordination with the relevant authorities and bodies» .

Al-Suwaidi pointed out that spilled oil and these spots may be a variety of materials, including crude oil from tankers, wells, offshore platforms and refined petroleum products such as gasoline and diesel, and so on.

She pointed out that such oil spills and oil stains have negative effects on the environment, which means making efforts to address them, stressing the pursuit of ships causing this pollution, and the imposition of the maximum penalties for them.
