Justice evokes “digital marketing disseminated on social networks”. Friday, July 24, five people living in Brittany were sentenced for significant trafficking in cannabis and cocaine. The research section of the Brittany gendarmerie, which was leading the investigation, took a month to come up with what it describes as a Breton “ubershit” who delivered to homes. A lucrative drug trafficking that could bring in 100,000 euros per month to the protagonist, a man from Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine).

Seized in May by the Rennes prosecutor's office, the investigation unit closely followed two men aged 19 and 38 and two women aged 21 and 31, all suspected of belonging to this regional narcotics sales network. The four individuals were arrested in flagrante delicto, in Lamballe and Jugon-les-Lacs (Côtes d'Armor) on July 20. A large-scale operation that brought together nearly 40 soldiers from the Côtes d'Armor and Ille-et-Vilaine gendarmerie. A fifth suspect, a 20-year-old man from Finistère, was also arrested. Almost six kilograms of cannabis were seized during these operations.

A turnover of 100,000 euros per month

According to investigators, the group acted "on the whole of Brittany" and obtained supplies several times a week from wholesalers in Pays-de-la-Loire. Originally from Rennes, the head of this organization advertised on social networks. Several hundred clients were supplied, generating "a minimum monthly turnover of 100,000 euros", according to Deputy District Attorney Eric Calut.

Judged in immediate appearance, the head of the network was found guilty of the counts of drug trafficking in recidivism and participation in a criminal association. The man was sentenced to seven years in prison. Three people who “worked for him” were sentenced to two years' imprisonment, one of which was suspended. All were taken into custody after the hearing. The partner of the main defendant was sentenced to six months suspended for the facts of "non-justification of resources by a person living in the usual way with an individual engaged in drug trafficking".
