He himself continues to serve as Prime Minister, and Wang Ruijie is the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Policy Coordination and Minister of Finance.

  Lee Hsien Loong announced the list of cabinet members at a video press conference that day. The two state counsellors Zhang Zhixian and Shang Daman continue to serve as the national security coordinating minister and social policy coordinating minister respectively. There are six new ministers in the cabinet. Important cabinet ministers such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Manpower, and the Ministry of Health remain unchanged.

  Lee Hsien Loong said that the continuity of government officials' appointments plays an important role in responding to the challenge of the new crown epidemic, so most important ministers stay in office.   Lee Hsien Loong also announced that due to the epidemic, the National Day mass meeting will not be held this year, and the Premier’s speech at the National Day mass meeting will be held in the National Assembly at the end of August.

  Singapore held its 13th parliamentary election since independence on July 10. The ruling party, the People’s Action Party, won 83 of the 93 seats in the National Assembly and the right to form a cabinet. The People's Action Party has been in power since Singapore became independent.
