Khalifa University of Science and Technology revealed the intensification of its preparations to launch three mini-satellites, of an educational and research nature, in the period from September to March 2021, noting that the first satellite "Muzn Sat" will be launched from Russia on the Soyuz missile in the last quarter of This year, while the two satellites, MySat 2 and LightSat 1, will be launched from the United States of America early next year.

The university affirmed its support for the state's goals related to space, and paving the way for the probe of hope (the first probe in the Arab world to go to Mars), by launching the first Bachelor in Aerospace Engineering and Space Science program in the region in 2009, and the launch of the first major in space systems and technology within the Master's program In the region in 2015, and the launch of the Yahsat Space Laboratory in 2016, with the aim of enabling researchers to manufacture, examine and launch satellites, in addition to overseeing the development of the MazenSat mini satellite, in cooperation with the Emirates Space Agency and the American University of Ras Al Khaimah.

The university indicated the launch of the first miniature satellite for the university, which was manufactured by students, and launched into outer space in November 2018, and the organization of the UAE mini satellite challenge in March 2019, in cooperation with the Emirates Space Agency, to give university students an opportunity to develop technology in the space field, and to pass MySat2 satellite design test in June 2019.

She pointed out that "Mezzanat" will measure, when it reaches its orbit, the amount of methane and carbon dioxide and their distribution in the atmosphere using a scientific device, operating in the infrared with short waves, specifically between (1000-1650 nanometers), where a team will Among the students are to monitor, process and analyze the data it sends to the ground station in the Yahsat laboratory at Khalifa University, and the ground station at the American University in Ras Al Khaimah.

She noted that the MySat 2 satellite is the second mini-satellite developed by her students at the Yahsat Space Laboratory in Abu Dhabi, which allows students to expand their knowledge and hone their skills, by working in all stages of space missions.

The university's first mini-satellite, launched by students, was launched into space in November 2018.
