Jean Castex wants to promote "a field ecology" based on dialogue at the level of a territory, which the Prime Minister opposes Sunday in a forum in Ouest France to an "moralizing, even sectarian" ecology.

"All ecologists!", Launches the head of government in this text intended to appear in the Monday editions of the regional daily, and affirming that ecology is "a priority".

While "scientists, like young people, push us to go further and faster", Jean Castex clearly sets up the ecological transition as a political issue, stressing that this acceleration will not be achieved "without politics, without politicians. Not those who are in the incantation but those who are in contact with the field ".

"The ecology in which I believe is an ecology of proximity, district and field", defends the Prime Minister, recalling his ambition that "almost everywhere in France, all the actors of a territory come together to build a real ecological transition plan around elements as concrete as thermal renovation, short circuits, cycle paths, energy savings, artificialization of land, renewable energies ".

"This plan will have to set precise, quantified and measurable objectives", underlines Jean Castex.

The head of government also insists on his desire to create jobs through ecological transition, but also to "reconcile" urban, peri-urban and rural France, the latter inhabited "by motorists for whom the car is still a necessity and who have been too often stigmatized ".

Finally, he promises to follow up the Citizen's Convention on the climate "with concrete and ambitious measures", on the eve of an ecological defense council to announce the first "regulatory" measures inspired by the proposals of the Convention.
