The first alarm was received by the police at 12 o'clock on Saturday. Two men with mouth guards walked around and knocked on doors at Rönnby, and stated that they wanted to come in to check the pipes. Their real plan is to cheat the elderly out of money.

In two cases, they managed to get into the home. In one case, they stole a bank card, but the attempted fraud stopped when the woman did not get her bank code. In the second case, the fraudsters managed to steal a bank card with an associated code, but the owners had time to find out what they had been exposed to and block the card before any money disappeared.

- This is a fashion right now, that you do it this way. You get in with some and then you move quite quickly to a new place, says Thomas Gustafsson, officer at the police's regional command center.

The police have been out on Rönnby with several patrols but have not found any suspected perpetrators. Reports of fraud and attempted fraud have been made.

"Terrible crime"

Thomas Gustafsson wants to remind you to never let strangers in, and never to give out bank cards and codes to others.

- You can never nag enough about this. These are terrible crimes and we are doing everything we can, but we are always one step behind. So now it is only to hope that there are some who have seen or heard something, says Thomas Gustafsson.
