The Traffic and Patrols Directorate issued violations to 15588 thousand vehicles for drivers to not give priority to pedestrians in places designated for their transit in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi during the period from January 1 to the end of June 2020, due to the lack of commitment to reduce speeds near pedestrian crossing lines and give them preference in transit.

She emphasized that pedestrian safety and security is an important strategic priority for Abu Dhabi Police and urged drivers to pay attention to traffic and pedestrian crossing on various roads, and to commit to reducing speeds near the places designated for their transit and in industrial areas and on the internal roads of residential neighborhoods and give them preference in transit.

She explained that the violation is against non-compliant drivers, including item "69" not to give priority to pedestrians in places designated for transit, and violating it is 500 dirhams and 6 traffic points.
