Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro said today, Saturday, that the results of his Corona virus examination were negative, weeks after he remained in sanitary isolation at his residence after contracting the virus.

Bolsonaro appeared in a photo posted on social media with a box of the anti-malarial drug Hydroxychloroquine, to which he is credited with recovering from the disease despite the lack of scientific evidence of its effectiveness.

In the text accompanying the photo, Bolsonaro said that the corona test result was negative.

The Brazilian president did not specify the date for the examination, nor did he provide further details.

Polsonaro has undergone several tests this month and has had positive results three times, including an initial diagnosis on July 7 that has confirmed he was infected with Covid-19 disease caused by infection with the Corona virus.

Since then, he has been partially isolated in the presidential residence and has performed his official duties through videoconferencing.

But he was leaving the residence from time to time.

Bolsonaro is among more than 2.3 million cases in Brazil, which ranks second in the world after the United States.

The Corona epidemic has claimed more than 85,000 lives in Brazil.
