The Ministry stated that it is implementing awareness-raising and monitoring campaigns, to ensure that no new cases of Corona virus emerge among facility workers, and other joint health campaigns with the relevant authorities, including medical checks for workers in workplaces and labor accommodations.
In detail, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation called on the contracting companies to ensure the allocation of housing for workers in the construction sites implemented by those companies, with a view to reducing the risks of mixing between workers, and to ensure the continued performance of construction work and infrastructure, in line with precautionary measures, aimed at ensuring their safety and protecting them from injury With the emerging corona virus (Covid-19).
In the guide videos that were broadcast on its official accounts on social media platforms, the Ministry stressed the need for companies wishing to establish workers' homes in construction sites to comply with all regulations and specifications set by the relevant local authorities, and to take all necessary precautions to take into account the physical distance between the workers using these homes, This provides them with protection from exposure to the virus.
She confirmed that she had formed field inspection teams, including representatives of the municipal affairs, health and civil defense departments, to conduct joint periodic campaigns to inspect the labor accommodations that are held in construction sites, and to ensure the availability of occupational health and safety requirements and the necessary precautionary measures.
The Ministry stated that it has defined, in cooperation with the Ministries of Interior, Health and Community Protection, and representatives of local municipalities, nine basic requirements that must be met in workers' homes in construction sites, to ensure the safety of workers residing in them, including the provision of rooms for quarantine in the vicinity of buildings of population facilities, and other nursing that are equipped with all devices Medical equipment, the provision of electronic devices to measure the temperatures of workers residing in the labor area, the periodic sterilization of the labor housing and its cleanliness, the provision of its daily requirements of water, food and electricity, in addition to adhering to the public health rules of cleaning and disinfection of surfaces, and providing disinfectants and disinfection tools within the reach of workers in the workplace and housing.
She noted that the conditions include, as well, the provision of one-time use masks, as well as preparing posters in languages that workers understand at work and housing sites, so that they include procedures to be followed to prevent the virus, follow the health habits of workers, and avoid performing work tasks collectively, except in Cases of necessity.
The municipality indicated that this campaign is carried out in parallel with the continuation of inspection teams, affiliated with the Ministry, awareness-raising campaigns and field inspection, to ensure the commitment of private sector establishments to the application of the law, ministerial decisions and precautionary measures to protect workers, "Corona" virus, noting that it also implements joint campaigns with the authorities. Concerned, to conduct medical tests to detect HIV infection among facility workers, at work sites and labor accommodations.
