The results show that approximately 11.5 percent of the tests were positive. But it is not possible to draw any conclusion that the figures look the same in the rest of society, says David Edenvik, assistant infection control doctor in the Jönköping County Region.

- I would think that we have had a larger proportion of positive cases here in healthcare than in society. We know that we have had a spread of infection among staff groups and in wards.

Test of public this fall

In total, about 10,000 antibody tests are to be performed on the healthcare staff in the Region alone. After that, care and nursing staff in the municipalities will be tested. There will be an additional 5,000 tests.

- Tests on a wider front of the public can, I would think, be offered in one way or another during the autumn, says David Edenvik.

How important is it that these tests are carried out in healthcare?

- It is not entirely clear how we can interpret the answers. But we get an overview of the epidemic situation and it also becomes an implication that we can see that some units where there have been many sick, where we can expect that we will not have large sick leave if there is a second wave.
