She had the courage to speak up. Four years after being raped near the Psychotherapeutic Center of Ain, in Bourg-en-Bresse, a 12-year-old girl dared to speak of her assault. Seized of the investigation, the research brigade of Bourg-en-Bresse and the gendarmerie of Ceyzériat launched a call for witnesses, reports Le Progrès . The gendarmes seek in particular to find the trace of a couple who could have taken in the young girl after her attack.

The girl was allegedly assaulted in June 2016 after getting off the bus near the Psychotherapeutic Center before being bothered by a man who could be in his thirties. She would have fled but her attacker would have followed her before abusing her. The man was reportedly surprised by a couple and fled. The couple had tried to help the young teenager but the latter had rejected him, says Le Progrès .

Anyone likely to help the investigators can contact the Bourg-en-Bresse research brigade on 04 74 45 97 46 or the Ceyzériat gendarmerie on 04 74 30 00 10.
