On Thursday, the municipal board in Karlshamn had an extra meeting on an extended guarantee framework for Östra Piren. Instead of SEK 300 million, the budget is now SEK 430 million. The decision had actually already been made, but as BLT revealed last week, there was a risk of a conflict with the decision made in the municipal council earlier this summer.

The decision was appealed and to be on the safe side, the municipal board has now taken over the decision - without the politicians who can be accused of conflict of interest being in place. This means that the politicians in the parent company Stadsvapnet, Karlshamnsfastigheter and Netport Scicence Park were not present.

Going to the council

The decision was hammered through without strangeness and on August 3 it will be taken again in the next instance; council.

- I have a hard time seeing that there would be a patrol somewhere as we all agree, says Magnus Gärdebring.

700 new jobs

The new building on Östra Piren means a building of 10,000 square meters with a concert hall, cinema, restaurant and 700 workplaces. The first sod will be taken this autumn.
