Xinhua News Agency, Harare, July 22 (Reporter Zhang Yuliang) The Shangdong Hospital, Zimbabwe's first new crown diagnosis and treatment hospital that adopts "Chinese standards", will open on the 23rd to receive patients with new crowns.

The 22nd is the open day of Shangdong Hospital. It is understood that the hospital currently has more than 50 medical staff and 50 beds, which will increase to 80 in the future. The reporter saw in the intensive care unit that medical equipment such as ventilators and monitors purchased from China were all available. The Chinese medical team in Tianjin is training medical staff.

According to Li Chuanyu, the person in charge of Shangdong Hospital, the hospital was established by the cooperation of 3 Chinese-owned private enterprises in Tianjin and the well-known local medical group "Health Point" with an investment of 3 million US dollars. The hospital will follow local laws and regulations and medical ethics to treat patients with new coronary disease in accordance with the operating specifications of Chinese hospitals. The hospital will initially be put into use as a designated diagnosis and treatment hospital for the new crown. After the epidemic is over, it will be changed to other types of specialized hospitals as appropriate.

Li Chuanyu said that the hospital was successfully completed in just over three months. During the preparation process, the Chinese Embassy in Zimbabwe and the relevant domestic departments strongly supported the medical equipment to be shipped to Zimbabwe as quickly as possible despite the poor international logistics. The Chinese anti-epidemic medical expert group who came to Tianjin for a working visit in May also made a special trip to the hospital for inspection and put forward many constructive opinions.

"Health Point" CEO Ainsley expressed the hope that Shangdong Hospital can provide treatment for more patients with COVID-19, and its "Chinese Standard" diagnosis and treatment model can also provide reference and experience for other medical institutions in Zimbabwe.

Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Guo Shaochun, who visited the hospital, expressed his hope that this hospital can become a model of cooperation between China and Zimbabwe in the field of medicine and health, and help more patients relieve their suffering and restore health.
