This Wednesday afternoon, a serious road accident claimed the life of a person in the town of Drocourt, in Pas-de-Calais, we learned from the road vigilance cell of the prefecture North.
In still undetermined circumstances, two cars collided in the middle of the day on the departmental road 40, in the Hénin-Beaumont direction towards Rouvroy.
A young man died on the spot
The passenger of one of the cars, a young man, died on the spot despite the intervention of the emergency services. The driver of the same car, also a young man, was seriously injured and transported to the Lille hospital center.
Only one person, a woman, was in the other car involved. Seriously injured too, she was taken care of by the emergency services.
The departmental road 40 was closed to traffic for the time of the emergency response, in particular to allow the landing of the Samu helicopter which carried the passenger of the first car.
