On Tuesday, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) described the accusations leveled by the American delegate to the United Nations, Kelly Kraft, for the movement as "lies, inaccuracies and political bullying."

The US accusations came during a regular session of the UN Security Council via a television circle on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian issue.

During the session, Kelly held Hamas responsible for the deterioration of the situation of the more than two million Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip, which Israel has besieged since the movement won the legislative elections in the summer of 2006.

Kelly also accused Hamas of being "a terrorist organization that practices repressive rule to achieve its violent vision and appease the dominant aspirations of its pastors, such as the regime in Iran."

"This conversation is an attempt by the American administration to beautify the bleak picture of the Israeli occupation due to its crimes against the Palestinian people," Hamas spokesman Hazem Kassem told Anatolia news agency.

Kassem considered that Kelly's talk is an attempt to absolve the occupation of the crime of his unjust siege of the Gaza Strip, adding that the US administration relies on "political bullying" when it speaks against reality, facts and against logic.

He stressed that the blockade imposed on Gaza violates all international laws, which is a full-fledged war crime, and Israel bears full responsibility for its repercussions.
