Since the incident in 2011, SSU Jönköping has honored the victims by handing out roses on each anniversary of the terrorist attacks, but due to covid-19, it was different this year. Instead, 77 chairs were placed, one for each person who died on Utøya and in Oslo.

- It shook our entire movement, says Junie Ek who sits on the district board for SSU.

Fear of standing up for one's opinions

In addition to the empty chairs, it will also be possible to light a candle, to symbolize that it is an event that must never be forgotten, according to Junie Ek, who says that the attack affected her as a young politician.

- You feel a fear of standing up for your opinions, that you can be murdered for your ideas, she says.
