In a little more than a year, the new Hisingsbron in Gothenburg will be ready next to the old Götaälv bridge. Work on the new bridge is in full swing and a week ago pylons and counterweights arrived in Gothenburg.

On Tuesday evening, work began on getting the first of the four pylons in place in the river and SVT Nyheter Väst was there.

The pillars weigh 130 tons each and become a landmark.

- These are large and heavy parts that require enormous precision when they are to be assembled. The margin of error is at the millimeter level, so it is a big challenge, said Susanne Wiberg, project manager at the traffic office to SVT Nyheter Väst.

Also during Wednesday and Thursday, the waters past the bridges will be closed while assembly of the pylons is in progress.
