The Ethiopian government announced, on Tuesday evening, the completion of filling the reservoir of the Renaissance Dam.
The Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Abi Ahmed, said that the rainy season helped fill the Renaissance Dam for the first year.
The office of the Ethiopian Prime Minister said in a statement that "it has become clear in the past two weeks during the rainy season that the filling of the Renaissance Dam has been achieved in its first stage."
He added that Ethiopia, Egypt and Sudan have agreed to hold further technical discussions on filling the Renaissance Dam in a process led by the African Union.
