The leaders of the 27 EU countries reached an agreement on Tuesday on a historic post-coronavirus stimulus package, on the fifth day of a marathon summit in Brussels, European Council President Charles Michel announced on Twitter.

A common debt created for the first time

“Deal!” Tweeted the Belgian. The object of a fierce battle between the "frugal" countries and the Franco-German couple, this plan of 750 billion euros creates for the first time a common debt, and is backed up by a multiannual budget of the EU (2021 -2027) of 1.074 billion euros.
