Jamal Belmadi, coach of the Algerian national team that won the 2019 African Nations Cup, praised Qatar's readiness to organize a wonderful World Cup when it hosted the World Cup in 2022, which the Greens are seeking to qualify for.

Balmadi's statement came after the announcement last week of the Qatar 2022 tournament schedule, which will witness four matches a day during the group stage.

This will ensure that fans have a unique experience, thanks to the proximity of distances in Qatar, to allow fans to attend more than one match in a day for the first time in the recent history of the World Cup.

"I know Qatar well, and I am sure it will organize a wonderful and unprecedented version of the World Cup," said Belmadi, who previously coached the Qatar national team. "Preparations for hosting the championship are in full swing, ahead of schedule."

He added that "Qatar has a proven history in organizing major sporting events such as the 2011 Asian Cup, and many championships in other sports such as tennis, golf and others."

The Algerian national team coach indicated that the closely related nature of the Qatar 2022 World Cup will benefit the participating teams.

He explained that the teams will be able to focus more on training and improving performance, and avoid travel fatigue, as was the case in many previous versions of the tournament, as the longest distance between two stadiums of the World Cup Qatar does not exceed 75 km.

Belmadi - who previously trained the Qatari Lekhwiya Club (currently Duhail) - said that during his stay in Qatar he witnessed world-class training facilities, stressing that it will be an essential aspect of the sports infrastructure needed to host the World Cup.

Belmadi is seeking to qualify for the Qatar World Cup 2022 and achieve an achievement in the tournament, which made him reject a huge financial offer to train the UAE national team recently.

It is noteworthy that the Algerian team, led by Belmadi, set up its training camp in Doha last summer, before heading to Cairo to participate in the African Nations Cup, which he won the title for the first time since crowning the first title in 1990.
