The Department of Education and Knowledge in Abu Dhabi announced the results of the students ’parents’ questionnaire about the coming academic year, where 45% of the students ’families who participated in the questionnaire expressed their preference for the return of their children to study next year.

The department said that the questionnaire attracted the participation of 63% of the parents of all private school students in Abu Dhabi, as it polled their views on various aspects related to the reopening of schools at the beginning of the new school year, including the school time and duration model, the means of transport for students, and others.

A third of respondents (34%) indicated that they prefer the continuation of the distance education model, considering that this model enables them to manage their time in the best possible way.

Out of the total participants in the questionnaire, the results showed that 39% of Emiratis preferred the continuation of the distance education model, compared to 33% of the residents, knowing that 74% of Emirati citizens in this category indicated the presence of home help in caring for their children at home, compared to 26 % Of residents.

The results of the questionnaire showed that the percentage of Emirati citizens living with one or more of the groups most at risk of infection (66% of the participants) is more than twice the same category of residents (31% of the participants), as this aspect was reflected in their views regarding the continuity of the model Distance learning.

Out of 45% of respondents who prefer to return to school, the survey results showed that 34% of respondents prefer returning to full-time schools, while 16% prefer a partial return to school (half a day) model, as it ensures a balance between education and safety.

The results of the questionnaire indicate that the number of children who will take the bus to go to school in the new semester is expected to decrease slightly, as 40% of the parents participating in the questionnaire indicated their intention to benefit from school bus services, while the percentage of students who benefit from these services 46% in the last academic year.

About 85% of the parents of the students participating in the questionnaire intend to enroll their children in the same schools for the new academic year.

In addition, the Department of Education and Knowledge in Abu Dhabi issued a comprehensive guide for policies and guidelines for reopening private schools, which aims to help each school find a better model for reopening its doors in a manner that ensures the health and safety of students and teachers.

201 schools and educational institutions will approve the results of the questionnaire, in addition to the guidance issued by the department to develop detailed plans on a form for returning students to school.
