They demanded the provision of rapid rescue services for swimming practitioners along the beach, the appointment of qualified cadres working around the clock, seven days a week, to secure and guide beachgoers with safety standards and rules, and the provision of rapid rescue methods, such as buoys and water bicycles, to respond quickly to reduce accidents of drowning.

Citizenship Noura Muhammad Al-Zaabi reported that repeated drowning incidents on the beaches of the city of Kalba have become worrying, especially since most of these victims are children and young people, as a result of their inability to swim to certain depths in the sea.

She pointed out that these incidents leave a deep impact on the souls, and the summer vacation has become associated with hearing the news of drowning on the beach for a child or a young man, stressing that the presence of a crew of rescuers and beach supervisors in vital places has become an urgent necessity.

The opinion was supported by citizen Mohammed Al-Qaidi, asking the concerned authorities to study the solutions, and to provide qualified monitors to secure the beach, and to deal immediately with the cases of drowning, in addition to providing mobile and foot patrols. They were over 12 years old.

An accredited marine swimming and rescue coach, Nabil Al Ali, called for preventing individual swimming on the beaches, especially since some people suffer from chronic diseases such as epilepsy, asthma, diabetes and heart disease.

He stressed that the use of buoys by children in deep waters may expose them to drifting in the current, in light of their parents' preoccupation with hiking or other activities on the beach.

And «Emirates Today» contacted the management of the Municipal Council of the city of Kalba, to see if there is a possibility to provide rapid rescue services for those who visit Kalba Beach, but it did not receive a response.

Safety measures

He stressed that if the rescue operation was carried out by a person who was not a professional rescuer or subject to rescue training, and who lacks the correct foundations, his fate will be drowning, and that people should seek immediate assistance from the responsible authorities in the event that they see a person being drowned.
