“In total, since the beginning of the fire hazard season in the Autonomous Okrug, 248 forest fires have been registered with a total area of 29878.13 ha (forest area - 29783.91 ha),” the message on the website of the regional government says.
Over the past day, 18 forest fires with an area of 4 thousand ha were recorded in the region.
Earlier it became known that in Chukotka all existing forest fires were eliminated.
