The meeting will discuss a number of common Gulf issues and files, and the presidents of Gulf parliaments will choose one of three topics that will be raised during the meeting to be the common Gulf issue for the year 2020, as the list of the three topics included “the policies of the Gulf Cooperation Council states after (Coffed - 19), And laying down a strategy for caring about youth issues and the demographics of the GCC countries, in reality and what is hoped for.

On Sunday, the First Deputy Speaker of the Federal National Council, Hamad Ahmed Al-Rahoumi, presided over the twelfth meeting of the Parliamentary Coordination Committee and Foreign Relations, which was held "remotely" with the participation of representatives of the Gulf Legislative Councils, a member of the Federal National Council, Youssef Abdullah Al-Batran, and the Secretary-General of the Council, Dr. Omar Abdel Rahman Al-Naimi and Assistant Secretary-General for Parliamentary Communication, Afra Rashid Al-Basti.

Rahoumi said in his speech during the meeting: «Our meeting comes at a time when the region is witnessing urgent challenges in addition to the exceptional global circumstances due to the Corona pandemic, which added more health, economic, and social challenges, and in light of these exceptional circumstances our virtual meeting comes today to discuss how to face These challenges are in the spirit of one team, and in a way that guarantees more convergence and coordination between the Shura Councils, the Representatives, the National and the Nation for the Gulf Cooperation Council states.

He stressed that this meeting will discuss a set of important issues related to strengthening the role of the Gulf-European Parliamentary Committee by ensuring the continuity of mutual visits and holding bilateral meetings with the European Parliament, and in the same framework there is a decision to form a Gulf Parliamentary Committee to cooperate with the parliaments of the Group of Latin American and Caribbean States (GroLak) ), These committees will reflect the importance of Gulf Parliamentary diplomacy.

He added, "The proposed topics will be discussed by the Shura Councils, Representatives, National and the Nation of the Gulf Cooperation Council states, regarding the joint Gulf issue, which touches and expresses the concerns, aspirations and hopes of the Gulf citizen and his reality, and we will also have to prepare a draft agenda for the thirteenth periodic meeting of the heads of councils Shura, Representatives, National and the Nation of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, and we hope in this regard to put forward new ideas and initiatives that contribute to facing the challenges of the current stage and look forward to the future of strengthening the joint parliamentary parliamentary action.

Participants in the meeting adopted the agenda of the thirteenth periodic meeting of chairmen of Shura Councils, Representatives, Nationalists and the Nation of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, which will be held "remotely" chaired by the Federal National Council on July 21, 2020.

With regard to the proposal to form a committee to cooperate with the parliaments of Latin American countries, the participants in the meeting made a recommendation to their Excellencies, Presidents of the Gulf Legislative Councils, that the Federal National Council continue to coordinate with the geopolitical group of the parliaments of Latin American countries "Grohlak" in the Inter-Parliamentary Union, to hold a Meetings on the sidelines of the meetings of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, with the participation of heads of Gulf delegations and general secretaries or "remotely", provided that the Presidency will follow up coordination to organize such a meeting.
