Kuwait and Turkey stressed the importance of supporting efforts aimed at resolving the current crises in the region through diplomatic means.

This came during a meeting held today, Monday, by the foreign ministries of the two countries through visual communication technology, within the seventh round of political consultations between them, according to a statement of the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry.

The statement added that the Turkish side expressed its appreciation for Kuwait's efforts aimed at reuniting the Gulf.

The two sides also discussed the issues of the region, especially the developments in Libya, Syria and Iraq, as well as the peace process in the Middle East.

They also discussed ways to enhance relations in the security, military, commercial and economic fields.

The Kuwaiti side was headed by Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs Walid Al-Khabizi, while the Turkish side was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Sadat Onal, in the presence of the ambassadors of the two countries.
