- We have people in line to come to us. Many who have come here have discovered Hälsingland for the first time, says Helene Åkerström-Hartman, owner of Orbaden Spa and resort.

The company was one of the first companies to go out and announce redundancies when the corona pandemic struck. Today, a third of the facility is closed to be able to handle the restrictions and recommendations that exist from the authorities.

Attracted by good outdoor life

Winn hotell group with its head office in Gävle was also one of the companies that were out early and gave notice. With a dozen hotels across the country, you can see that the difference is big where the Swede chooses to go this summer.

- Stockholm and Gothenburg are doing much worse than usual, while our facilities in Falun and Karlskrona have a record summer. I think that Swedes are attracted to places where there is a good outdoor life such as Högbo. In Gävle, it helps that Furuviksparken is partially open, says Anders Junger, CEO of the hotel group.

Just rattled

Långvind has one of the county's smallest hotels and hostels. There you already notice now that there will be a dip after having had its best July ever.

- Our newly built part was completed just in time for midsummer and that has meant that we had our best July ever. When the authorities lifted the travel restrictions in mid-July, it just rattled with us, says Agneta Bengtson who owns the business together with her husband.

But all three are worried about the coming autumn, the bookings are already appearing. Hear them tell in the segment above.
