Despite Rosengård's win against Umeå IK on Sunday, Rosengård's goalkeeper Zećira Mušović was not happy. In a post on social media, the goalkeeper criticizes the plan for being a "risk of injury" and that it is "under all criticism". Unit manager Camilla Lundberg at Umeå energy arena agrees that the plan is partly in poor condition.

- We have a plan that is in line with exchange, absolutely, says Lundberg.

The artificial grass that is currently located at Umeå energy arena is five years old and has been repaired after it was torn up a bit during the snow removal last year. A company that is approved by the Swedish Football Association, Svff, has inspected the pitch three times during the spring and sent in its statements to Svff, who are the ones who decide whether the football pitches meet the requirements.

"We must have an approved plan"

Svff has stated that the plan does not live up to the requirements it should have for the level at which Umeå IK and Umeå FC play. However, both teams have been granted an exemption from the association to play on the pitch this season, provided that it is replaced until next year.

- We must have a football pitch that is approved for next year, and there is a proposal to replace it, but it is a big cost and up to the politicians to make that decision, says Camilla Lundberg.

Costs several million

She estimates that it will cost between three and five million kroner to replace the grass on the pitch. Until a decision is made, however, the municipality does what they can to ensure that the plan is in as good a condition as possible.

- We take care of it as well as possible based on the conditions that exist, says Camilla Lundberg.
