The idea was to market the municipality's nature and outdoor life to attract nurses from other parts of the country.

- We do not have the opportunity to compete with very high salaries as has been done elsewhere in the country. Instead, we wanted to highlight what would be interesting for those interested in the outdoors in Krokom, says Marie Hermansson, operations manager for Aid, Health and Medical Care in Krokom municipality.

In previous years, it has been difficult to recruit enough labor. But with the project, four nurses have been recruited this year, three of whom come from southern Sweden.

- Considering how difficult it usually is to recruit nurses and considering the pandemic, I think it has exceeded expectations well, says Hermansson.

Attracted by fishing

For Viktor Bendroth, who usually works as a nurse in Malmö, it was fishing opportunities that made him move up.

- It was a friend who tipped me about an ad in the newspaper and thought that this could suit me and she is not wrong. Everything has worked very well and I can combine both my interest and the job, says Viktor Bendroth.

Would you come back to Krokom if you get a similar offer next year?

- I would definitely consider it. You do not turn down such a good offer.
