A health decree has framed since Monday morning the obligation to wear a mask in public places: banks, administrations, restaurants ... But what about covered sports establishments, or private companies that do not welcome the public? Europe 1 takes stock.

DECRYPTION

The rules have changed. The wearing of a mask is now compulsory in enclosed spaces, to fight against the coronavirus epidemic. The measure, aimed at stemming a certain relaxation, two months after the end of confinement, was rather well accepted by the French interviewed by Europe 1, Monday morning. But doubts sometimes remain as to the precise rules: what are the places where the measure applies, and the others? Europe 1 takes stock.

In administrations, banks and shops: mandatory mask

If you have to do your shopping or deposit a check, the rule is clear: the mask is mandatory in banks, administrations but also all shops, from the shopping center to the neighborhood grocery store, via the open markets. If you have any doubts, you can refer to the storefront, where a sign "wearing a compulsory public mask" must logically appear.

As was the case in places where the wearing of a mask was already compulsory, the fine incurred amounts to 135 euros for non-compliance with the rules. These places also remain concerned by the obligation: the mask is therefore required in public transport, cinemas, theaters, museums, bars and restaurants.

In closed sports halls: a protocol to be respected

As part of the definition of "closed premises", the covered sports establishments are theoretically concerned by the obligation. But the decree does not stipulate how the mask should be worn there: from the entrance, throughout the session? According to the Ministry of Sports, the protocol to be followed will be the same as in restaurants: in practical terms, you will have to wear the mask when you are traveling, and you will be able to remove it when you practice your physical activity.

In companies not listed in the decree: on a case-by-case basis

Concerning the companies which do not welcome the public and which do not appear in the decree, it is up to each, specifies the Ministry of Health, to change its health protocol. However, in the event of a rebound, the government does not rule out strengthening measures in these companies.
