Joakim Degerfält, who is a construction trader in Robertsfors, explains all dimensions of timber that he usually keeps in stock.

- One hundred and forty-five is over, one hundred and ninety-five is also completely over.

He is somewhat resigned but still happy to sell.

- Yes, it is a real pressure, there are an enormous number of people who want to buy timber for their balcony constructions and they come all the way from the city as the large hardware stores also have difficulty keeping stock. And I have already sold the boards before the truck that comes here with the timber has unloaded, says Joakim Degerfält.

Build instead of travel

Patrik Löfgren is building a 140 square meter terrace by his cottage in Legdeåviken outside Robertsfors.

- I have just undergone a major operation and belong to risk group three and could not go out and travel and therefore I chose to spend my money on a balcony construction instead. Most of the time I have gotten hold of wood, but certain dimensions have been a bit difficult, he says.

Increased construction

Several of the construction retailers in the Mellanbygden and Skellefteå area that SVT spoke to notice that home construction has increased but that the wood comes from the sawmills even though it takes a little longer nowadays.

- Sometimes there is a little stop in the construction when there is no wood at the dealers, but then you have to take the opportunity to rest a bit from your summer project instead, says Patrik Löfgren.
