BFMTV now offers viewers of its mobile application to watch its programs in vertical format, announced Monday the parent company of the news channel, the group Altice France.

No need to turn your screen in transport: the traditional horizontal format of the television is automatically reshaped. The traditional split screen of the news channel is thus found on two or three levels, vertically.

This technology was developed by the startup Wildmoka, specialist in the real-time enrichment of television content, based in Sophia Antipolis (Aleps-Maritimes).

For Arthur Dreyfuss, managing director of Altice Media, this function "gives a new dimension to the media TV, with a comfort of single use which will accentuate the position of leader of BFMTV and the chains of the group".

Altice France specifies in its press release that it will soon be deploying Wildmoka's technology on other group antennas such as BFM Business.

The news channel joins many applications designed to play videos vertically, from Snapchat to TikTok via the brand new American streaming service Quibi. Korean manufacturer Samsung has even launched a television that pivots on itself, to adapt to the king size of the web.
