Three men suspected of having fled in a car after having fatally struck a young 23-year-old woman in Lyon on the night of Saturday to Sunday have been placed in police custody, we learned from the parquet. The three suspects, whose age has not been specified, appeared "spontaneously at the police station two hours after the facts," said the Lyon prosecutor's office to AFP.

"The hearing of witnesses and the technical and scientific police investigations are actively continuing to establish the exact circumstances of the death of this young woman," added the prosecution, confirming information from Lyon Mag.

Trail over several hundred meters

According to the information site of the monthly Lyonnais, the alleged driver - who is among the three in custody - would have overturned the young woman on Sunday around 3:45 am while she was walking her dog in the 5th arrondissement of Lyon. An altercation between the victim and the suspects, who had just struck the animal while they were driving at high speed, would be at the origin of the drama, specifies Lyon Mag .

The car then allegedly mowed the young woman before dragging her for several hundred meters and fleeing. Alerted, the firefighters could only note his death.
