According to him, if the previous year was the worst for metallurgists since independence, then due to a lack of understanding of economic policy in the current government, the year 2020 will be even harder.
“The government has no idea how they are going to restore the mining and metallurgical industry. The last strategic document relating to the development of the MMC - the State Program for the Development and Reform of the Complex - was adopted in 2004, and its effect ended almost a decade ago, ”he said on the website of the political force.
Kaltsev noted that Ukraine needs a “smart” industrial policy and “the mining and metallurgical complex should become its integral part”.
In March, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that the new government needed to develop a program to support Ukrainian industry.
