- Measures.The Generalitat asks the citizens of Barcelona to avoid leaving their homes
The technical committee for Civil Protection of the Generalitat of Catalonia has approved this morning to extend the measures against the coronavirus decreed last Friday to Sant Feliu de Llobregat (Barcelona), Figueres and Vilafant (Girona), given the increase in infections from Covid- 19 in these three locations.
The obligations and recommendations in these three towns will be the same that, from this Saturday, apply in Barcelona and 12 municipalities in its metropolitan area and in the regions of Segrià and La Noguera (Lleida).
In this way, the three million citizens affected by the Government's plan against outbreaks of coronavirus, will now join the nearly 100,000 inhabitants that add Sant Feliu de Llobregat, Figueres and Vilafant. Therefore, they should follow the recommendation not to leave their homes except to carry out "essential activities", such as receiving health care, commuting for work or buying essential products.
The measures will enter into force once validated by the judicial authority and, initially, will last 15 days, a period that can be modified depending on the evolution of the pandemic.
