As the head of Belarus noted, Babariko began to testify after he was refused registration as a candidate for the election of the head of state.

Along with this, Lukashenko added that in the case of Belgazprombank "there is no political order."
“Nobody will become a prisoner of conscience, these prisoners, there are already 30 of them there,” the head of state said.
The President of Belarus stressed that the materials on this case will be specially prepared "so that experts from Interpol, the USA, Poland and Russia will come here."
On July 14, the CEC of Belarus registered five presidential candidates, and some, in particular Babariko, refused to register.
In early July, Babariko was charged under three articles of the Criminal Code of Belarus.
