The Sharjah Court of First Instance acquitted a citizen journalist in a case brought against him by a well-known social network, on charges of assaulting privacy by publishing information about the prosecutor, which is a "judicial ruling" using the information network.

The details are returned after a journalist published a court ruling issued against the complainant through his page on social media, and by asking the defendant's court panel, he said: “I got the information that I published from official government approved sources, and the complainant also did not have to enter her account on social media or obtain The ruling shall be carried out in unofficial secret ways, as it was published by a number of local and Arab newspapers printed, according to rulings issued by the Dubai Court.

The lawyer assigned to the journalist, Fatima Al Ali, said that the case was heard after the public ruling of the complainant’s imprisonment issued by Dubai Courts of First Instance and Appeals, through social media pages, local newspapers and news networks.

She added that her client works as an accredited journalist, and the nature of his work requires searching for truth and information, pointing out that the nature of his work did not require that the complainant's account be entered or penetrated into social media, but rather obtained the information from official approved sources.
