“According to Vladimir Volfovich ... the appointment may happen on Monday,” the LDPR press service quotes RIA Novosti.

Earlier it was reported that the Liberal Democratic Party named possible candidates for the post of interim Khabarovsk governor if a decree on the resignation of the current head of the region, Sergei Furgal, is signed.

The official was detained in Khabarovsk on July 9. The Moscow Basmanny Court detained him for two months on charges of organizing the murders of businessmen in 2004-2005.

Press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin has not yet decided on the resignation of Furgal.
