According to him, the personnel of the motorized rifle formation of the Southern Military District, stationed in Karachay-Cherkessia, was raised on a training alert.
“The military personnel of the battalion tactical groups carried out a complex of measures, including access to the column formation area and marching through mountain passes using horses of the Mongolian and Karachai breeds,” he said.
Astafyev noted that in this episode of the exercises, 1,200 servicemen of the motorized rifle compound participate and more than 200 units of weapons and military equipment are involved.
Earlier it was reported that in the Southern Military District they will conduct more than 70 exercises as part of a surprise check of troops.
