A tragic incident that shook the popular circles in the governorate to become a preoccupation for social media and media stations, and the intervention of political figures from the Kurdistan region, because the man and his wife are from the Kurdish component.

Muhammad Karim Faki (44 years), from Kirkuk, married with two children. He practiced education in a primary school and lived a normal life before his life was turned upside down within 48 hours.

He remained outside Kirkuk General Hospital, waiting to receive the body of his wife (Al-Jazeera Net).

Beginning from Corona,
more than two weeks have passed since the wife of Faki was infected with the Corona virus to be transferred to Kirkuk General Hospital following the deterioration of her condition, to begin the challenging journey in front of the family to face the exceptional circumstances and coexist with the injury in a difficult health and psychological atmosphere, left behind by the Corona pandemic despite the great efforts made by the medical teams In Iraqi hospitals.

With the steady increase in daily infections, the health measures are no longer sufficient to combat it, which led to a significant shortage of artificial respirators and oxygen bottles and medicines, which prompted Al-Fiqi to bear the cost and hardship of providing oxygen and buying the necessary medicines for his wife from outside the hospital.

In an interview with Al-Jazeera Net, Faki said, "I was carrying the oxygen bottle on my back from long distances and I was taking care of my wife myself."

He added, "I was able to provide blood plasma from a person who is recovering from the virus personally to treat my wife."

Strange scenario
Within 48 hours, Faki lived successive events that changed his life forever, ending with his loss to his life partner. In the early morning hours of last Saturday, events accelerated, starting with the announcement of the oxygen unit in the hospital about the depletion of raw materials from the gas that his wife lived on for days. He brought in two additional bottles and caused a verbal argument with the health teams, which ended up smashing his $ 60,000 ventilator.

An incident that led to Muhammad's arrest and detention in a prison in a police station near the hospital, to be returned to one of the hospital corridors, fearing that the police staff might become ill because he was in contact with his injured wife and his stone in a room next to his wife's room whose condition had deteriorated.

This forced the medical team to return Faki to accompany his wife, but this time, he was handcuffed to one side of his wife's bed, whose health condition was relapsed, which led after hours to leave her life.

A painful scene lived by Faki who said, "I begged the policeman so much in the hope of breaking my shackles to care for my wife, who lived her last hour without care, so she died."

After the death of Faki's wife, the latter was left bound to bed in the hospital for more than two hours before the Director General of Kirkuk Health and the Assistant Director of Kirkuk Police intervened to release him so that he could attend the procedures for burying his wife to be released later in return for a financial guarantee of 10 million dinars (8.5 thousand Dollars).

Dr. Ziyad Khalaf Al-Jubouri, Director General of Kirkuk Health, told Al-Jazeera Net, "I deplored what happened against the jurisprudence," considering that the way of dealing with him is inhuman and not worthy of human dignity, so I intervened to release him to participate in the burial of his deceased wife.

Al-Jubouri also added that "the Kirkuk Health Department deals with the issue in accordance with the Ministry's controls and protocols, as it formed a ministerial committee to investigate the course of events."
