The hedgehog, which was red-listed by the Species Data Bank in April, can sometimes be found on Swedish farms and there are several ways for you to help them thrive.

- Do not use chemical pesticides in the garden.
- Be careful when burning piles of leaves in the spring. Move the pile or lift up and peek.
- Cycling rather than taking the car. Then the hedgehog will not be run over!
- Be careful when using various cutting tools under bushes and thickets or in tall grass, hedgehogs often seek shelter there.
