Two young people aged 17 were arrested by the police officers of the anti-crime brigade (BAC) in Clermont-Ferrand (Puy-de-Dôme) in the context of a case of snatching, this Sunday. The suspects were arrested after several weeks of investigation, reports La Montagne .

They would have committed a total of a dozen thefts of gold necklaces in the street, during the past two months, in three cities of the department. Each time, the suspects used the same technique: they located and followed their victims - always women - to their homes, then belted them and tore off their necklaces. Two of the women were beaten and thrown to the ground while trying to fight.

Heard by a juvenile judge

To find the trace of the suspected criminals, the investigators were able to count on the images of the video surveillance cameras. One of the two suspects was arrested this Sunday after stealing a cell phone from the city tram. The second was arrested when the police went to the home where they are both housed, in order to conduct a search in the room of the first.

The two were taken into police custody before being brought before the prosecution on Tuesday. They will soon be summoned before a juvenile judge to answer for their actions.
