Refresh the world record! my country's deep sea glider dive to 10619 meters for the first time

Yesterday (July 16) afternoon, the 10,000-meter abyss observation scientific investigation team organized and implemented by Qingdao National Laboratory for Marine Science and Technology Pilots successfully returned to the sea. In this comprehensive scientific expedition, the maximum dive depth of my country's 10,000-meter deep sea glider reached 10619 meters for the first time.

In the 6-day comprehensive scientific expedition, two 10,000-meter class “Haiyan-X” underwater gliders jointly developed by the Marine Pilot National Laboratory and Tianjin University with independent intellectual property rights in China obtained a total of 45 observation profiles, of which 3000 One meter-level, 6000 meter-level and 7000 meter-level profile each, three 10,000-meter-level profiles, with a maximum dive depth of 10619 meters, refreshing the latest world record of dive depth, and obtaining warm salt depth, dissolved oxygen, acoustics And deep-sea observation data such as video materials. Continuous multi-profile 10,000-meter observations represent a breakthrough in my country's key technology for 10,000-meter underwater gliders.

Project Leader Wang Peng: Relying on the National Marine Pilot Laboratory, we have carried out multidisciplinary integration in technology. For the first time, we have adopted a new type of ceramic pressure-resistant composite material, which can ensure that our Haiyan glider can withstand the extremely high pressure of 10,000 meters of water depth. In terms of buoyancy drive, we have realized large displacement and high precision adjustment. In terms of observation, we have carried out multi-sensor fusion. This is the first time that the fusion of so many observation elements has been observed on an international mobile platform.
