Eric Bledsoe, the leader of the Milwaukee Bucks, announced Friday that he had tested positive for COVID-19 and will not join his team in the "Orlando bubble", where the NBA is to resume in less than two weeks.

"I am asymptomatic and I feel good," said the 30-year-old, who is playing in the Bucks' very good season, having won the most games in the regular season, to the American media ESPN.

"When I'm in order with the NBA protocols, I can't wait to join my teammates in Orlando," added Bledsoe, as several players have already arrived in Florida for the training camp that will precede the resumption of the NBA on July 30.

Before him, other NBA players had tested positive at COVID-19, including Russel Westbrook (Houston Rockets), Kevin Durant (Brooklyn), Marcus Smart (Boston) and two Utah Jazz stars, Donovan Mitchell and the French Rudy Gobert.

The championship has been interrupted since March 11, following the announcement of the positive coronavirus test by Rudy Gobert.

The season will resume as a symbol on July 30 with a match of Jazz and its French pivot which will be measured in New Orleans by the Zion Williamson phenomenon, before a big shock the same evening between the Lakers of LeBron James and the Clippers of Kawhi Leonard.
