- It is not always the case that the infection is in border areas. In Strömstad, the infection is very low. But in Norway, Strömstad is installed throughout western Götaland and then it looks different. Regional considerations are not taken into account, says Sven-Erik Bucht.

Complicates collaboration

The Border Barriers Council is a political body under the Nordic Council of Ministers, which works to promote the free movement of people in the Nordic countries for both individuals and companies. The council consists of representatives from the Nordic countries and the autonomous territories of the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Åland.

"The Nordic countries are strong together"

The corona pandemic has led Norway and Finland, as well as Denmark, to introduce extensive restrictions on entry into the countries. In the long run, this could be a threat to Nordic co-operation, says Sven-Erik Bucht.

- The Nordic countries are strong together. But if we start to split up and people start to feel hatred, suspicion and nationalism, then it will be very difficult to pursue Nordic co-operation.
