“The actions threatened by the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan are a blatant violation of international humanitarian law in general, and in particular the First Additional Protocol of the Geneva Convention,” the Armenian Foreign Ministry quoted RIA Novosti as saying.

Earlier, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres called on Armenia and Azerbaijan to take measures to de-escalate the situation on the border.

As reported, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held telephone conversations with his Armenian and Azerbaijani colleagues and also called on Baku and Yerevan to show restraint.
