The police about the Fröslunda shooting: "It is being investigated as an isolated incident"

Staff at Mälar Hospital alerted the police on Tuesday evening after the gunshot wounded man entered the emergency room.

- He went there on his own.

The man, who is in his 25s, was discharged from hospital yesterday and will be questioned by police. Investigator Peter Edvardsson is very secretive about what caused the shooting, but says that the gunshot wounded man is already known to the police.

- This is being investigated as an isolated incident and we have not found any connection to another incident, he says.

During the evening, the police made a technical investigation of the crime scene and found empty shell casings to be sent for analysis to NFC.

- We are waiting for an answer from NFC and continue to interrogate witnesses, says Edvardsson.

He says that several shots were fired on Slånbärsvägen in Eskilstuna between nine and ten o'clock on Tuesday.

- There is nothing I want to comment on, he says.

Police have not found anyone suspected of the shooting, which is still classified as aggravated assault.
