The Egyptian President’s Advisor, Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, for health and prevention, Dr. Mohamed Awad Taj El-Din, confirmed that an Egyptian research center is conducting research on a vaccine for Corona virus, and has reached the stage of pre-clinical trials.
Taj Al-Din said, during a phone conversation with the journalist Wael Al-Ibrashi on the "Ninth" program, broadcast on Channel One on Egyptian television, that Egypt communicates daily with research centers around the world, who will be able to vaccinate the virus, to be present in Egypt as soon as it is available.
The Egyptian President’s advisor for health and prevention affairs pointed out that the ferocity of the Corona virus has decreased and its severity decreased, which made the infected cases not suffer as much as they were at the beginning of the pandemic, saying: “Corona will turn into a chronic disease such as influenza, such as swine flu, which has become a seasonal virus that affects People, ”he continued,“ if the number of cases of infection is established at a specified number for a period of 5 days, and then it declines thereafter, we can say that there is a curve of significant decline. ”
He explained: "There is control over the situation, but we are still sick and have a virus, and we must continue with health measures, social separation and the use of disinfectants."
Regarding the possibility of a second wave from Corona, he said: "In the winter October-October-December-January-January-February, there will remain winter, and winter-time viruses spread like regular influenza, and others with the consideration that the Corona virus is already present and mutated in the new virus," expecting It weakens and ends, and turns into a regular seasonal virus.
And Taj al-Din expected that a new virus will emerge in the coming years: "Unfortunately, after several years, a new virus will appear."
